ZKTeco launches embedded facial recognition IP camera

 

ZKVision, ZKTeco’s division focused on biometric technology, has launched a new embedded facial recognition high-performance intelligent HD IP camera.

According to the company, the new camera series adopts high integration face recognition and features a long-distance face recognition algorithm. The company says its IR lams can distinguish night and day, and perform identification under many lighting conditions. As an embedded solution, the camera itself manages registration, recognition and storage.

“We have [the] most excellent R&D team in the world,” Richard Chen, ZKTeco’s chief scientist said. “After years of face recognition research and development, we are glad to release our first generation embedded face recognition IPC. What we are working is to combine technology with product and highlight the advantage of biometric technology. We believe we will provide the most reliable face recognition and iris recognition technology in surveillance industry.”

Reported previously, according to a new research report, the global video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 28.1 percent between 2012 and 2016.

Also, According to a recent CNN/Time/Orc poll, 79% of Americans are in favor of using facial recognition at various locations and public events, and 81% support expanded camera surveillance on streets and in public places.
