VerifyMe and EyeLock announce several appointments

VerifyMe announced that it has named Balu Ramamurthy the head of biometrics, optical and image processing areas, a role in which he will report directly to the chief technology officer.

In this new role, Ramamurthy will contribute significantly to mobile authentication solutions.

Prior to joining VerifyMe, Ramamurthy was a software consultant at ENT Matrix where he worked on the financial risk assessment team at Goldman Sachs in New York.

Earlier in his career, Ramamurthy served as an algorithms and software developer at Eyelock and a software engineer at WIPRO Technologies.

Ramamurthy has extensive programming skills, experience in developing and working in various real time image processing applications and aptitude in algorithm optimization and image processing.

In a separate announcement, EyeLock named three key appointments as part of its plan to continue to strategically grow the company in crucial markets and industry segments, and position itself as an industry leader:

The company appointed Mike Garibaldi as senior vice president and general manager of security solutions, Blaine Frederick as VP of product management for security solutions, and Marco Emrich as VP of business development for Latin America

As SVP/GM of security solutions, Garibaldi is responsible for EyeLock’s physical security products and myris businesses, including sales, support, operations and technology.

He has more than 30 years of experience in technical, operational and management consulting with particular focus in the banking and financial services industries, with significant experience in the executive management of global technology infrastructure and core applications at the enterprise level.

Garibaldi previously served as partner and co-founder of IT consulting firm i3 Solutions Group, COO of CS Technology, Inc., and managing director of CIBC World Markets.

As VP of product management for security solutions, Frederick will guide the company’s vision for iris authentication products and solutions in both physical and logical security as well as their numerous commercial applications.

Prior to joining EyeLock, he served as product manager at STANLEY Security, a global division of Stanley Black & Decker.

As VP of business development for Latin America, Emrich is responsible for market development strategies and execution for the Latin America region, with particular focus in Brazil.

He has over 30 years of experience in achieving operational results and business growth objectives as the CEO of start-ups, turnarounds, and global organizations.

Emrich previously served as managing partner of consulting firm Strategic Business Alliance (SBA), chief strategy and channel officer at jaccomo Inc., interim CEO of WholeBrain Creativity, and president and CEO of SEDONA Corporation.
