Unioncommunity looks to expand Middle East market share with biometrics showcase at GITEX

Unioncommunity will be launching its latest generation of multimodal biometrics terminals and a cloud-based access control platform at next week’s GITEX Technology Week in Dubai where the Korea-based company is expecting to find opportunities to expand market share in the Middle East market.

Unioncommunity, manufacturer of the VIRDI and NITGEN biometric technology solutions, will exhibit its new UBIO series which includes a range of high-performance multimodal biometric terminals supportiing face, fingerprint, card, PIN, and mobile key authentication technology as well as its cloud-based security and workforce management platform Alpeta. The UBio Alpeta Security Platform supports small to enterprise-level access security and workforce management applications and the UBio Alpeta X-Builder tool gives system integrators, developers, and power users the ability to create custom functions.

The company notes that its UBio series addresses requirements specific to the Middle East market including liveness detection, encrypted templates, aesthetic design, tamper and harsh sunlight resistance, and high-speed identification and verification. The company’s first 4G biometric tablet will also be released at GITEX 2019. The UBIO lineup was first introduced at Unioncommunity’s global partner conference in April.

Earlier this year Unioncommunity R&D Center Director Baek Yong-Hyun was honored by the Ministry of Science and ICT for his contribution to financial industry growth through his work developing fake finger detection and liveness detection technology.
