Toshiba adds biometric features to Satellite Pro and Tecra laptops

Toshiba Client Solutions Europe has announced biometric upgrades to two devices in its Satellite Pro and Tecra 15” series of laptops.

The Satellite Pro A50-EC and Tecra A50-EC now feature SecurePad with Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensor, a touchpad with a built-in fingerprint sensor. The Tecra A50-EC also features an IR camera which enables facial authentication via Intel Authenticate and Windows Hello face sign-in. These upgrades provide an added layer of protection to the highly-secure E-Generation series.

“These cutting-edge updates to devices in our business range demonstrate our goal to provide the fastest, most powerful, secure and functional laptops for professionals on the move,” said Damian Jaume, managing director, Toshiba Client Solutions Europe. “We understand that working patterns are evolving and we want to ensure that our technology moves in tandem with those shifts. These updates deliver the right mix of convenience, connectivity and robust security for the contemporary business user”.

Earlier this year PC notebook manufacturer Clevo announced it will feature Synaptics’ SecurePad technology with fingerprint sensors in its high-performance notebook series.
