Synaptics sets date to report Q4 results, appoints new board member

Synaptics will report financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal 2019 on August 8, 2019 after the close of market and will host a corresponding conference call for analysts and investors at 5:00 p.m. ET during which management may discuss forward-looking information.

Synaptics revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2019 were down 15.2 percent from the same quarter last year, on downturns across its mobile, IoT, and PC product lines, which the company attributed to softening demand in China.

The human interface solutions developer expects its Q4 2019 revenue to be in the $300 million to $320 million range.

New board member appointed

Synaptics has appointed Kiva Allgood to its Board of Directors, effective May 31, 2019. Allgood, who will join the Board’s Compensation Committee and Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee, currently serves as the Global Business Unit Head of IoT and Automotive for Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson.

Allgood has previously served as Chief Commercial Development Officer and as Managing Director of GE Ventures, a Corporate Venture Company and Innovation Group of GE Corporate. She also served as President of Qualcomm Intelligent Solutions, IoT and Smart Cities at Qualcomm Incorporated.

“We believe that Ms. Allgood’s senior management positions with other leading companies, her experience at a leading venture capital firm with a focus on high-technology companies, her engineering background, and her knowledge and track record in the Internet of Things and automotive technology sectors will prove highly valuable as we continue to execute our strategy, drive profitability and enhance value for all Synaptics shareholders,” says Nelson Chan, Executive Chairman of the Board at Synaptics.

Chan, a director since 2007 and non-executive chairman since October 2018, was appointed executive chairman of the board in March when Richard Bergman stepped down as CEO.
