Suprema ID launches compact multi-function reader for documents with embedded biometrics

Suprema ID has unveiled a new multi-functional, full-page document reader with support for biometric credentials.

The RealPass-N performs one-step scanning of multiple document types, including ICAO Doc 9303-compliant machine-readable documents containing biometric data such as e-passport, e-visa, ID cards, and barcodes.

Since ICAO documents support biometric verification, the document reader can be integrated into e-Gate and Kiosks, as well as used for more traditional desktop applications.

The document reader can capture and extract data from visual data pages and RFID chips of electronic documents and features adaptive image enhancement capabilities via Suprema ID’s true image engine for external lighting.

The RealPass-N also offers anti-glare technology for high-quality image acquisition, integrated dual RF antenna, and tempered glass with IP54 surface.

“We are thrilled to launch an innovative and aesthetic document reader, RealPass-N which enables space-saving and easy integration with low profile and simple shape in self-service kiosks, e-Gates and counters,” states Suprema ID CEO Bogun Park. “Moreover, the market will now have a great option for their automated document reading requirements at competitive price.”

Park says the document reader is designed for border control and immigration, airport security, hospitality, banking, travel and any other industries requiring accurate and reliable document reading.
