Suprema ID biometrics embedded in Coppernic tablets, facial recognition thermal camera launched

Suprema ID’s BM-Slim3 FAP30 biometric fingerprint module has been integrated in the FAP30 ID Platform tablet recently launched by Coppernic, the company announced.

The BM-Slim3 module is an ultra-thin authentication scanner module that provides a larger sensing area to collect high-quality images. At 15 mm, FAP 30 is allegedly the slimmest optical sensor in the world. The module includes a liveness detection algorithm that uses deep learning to detect spoofing attempts. BM-Slim3 is FBI PIV and FBI Mobile ID certified.

Coppernic announced new FAP20 and FAP30 versions of its ID Platform for government customers weeks ago.

ID Platform FAP30 ensures KYC compliance. Public and private sector companies and organizations can register their users’ identity parameters in a database. The platform can be rolled out to provide identification in finance, telecommunications, education, social welfare and electoral fields. The machine-learning based Live Finger Detection (LFD) Technology identifies fake fingerprints made from clay, rubber, silicon, glue, paper, film and other materials.

Suprema’s Multi Dynamic Range (MDR) technology ensures high image quality in the harshest environment conditions and can capture an image at a speed of as few as 6ms.

“At Suprema ID, we are excited to add Coppernic to our expanding portfolio of supported biometric solutions,” said Bogun Park, CEO at Suprema ID Inc., in a prepared statement. “Through our relationship with Coppernic, we will be able to extend the full benefits of our BioMini range fingerprint scanners to more customers worldwide.”

“Working with Suprema ID is really smooth and easy to do business with. During the integration phase (hardware and software), Suprema ID has been really supportive and enabled us to launch our new ID Platform with FAP30 BM-Slim3 in a very short time,” said Kevin Lecuivre, managing director at Coppernic. “With this new integration, completing the FAP20 BM-Slim2 version, Coppernic can know propose a very complete range of ID Platform tablets, fully featured to work in each and every field conditions.”

Suprema launches thermal camera with facial recognition

Suprema’s latest Thermal Camera system leverages advanced thermography technology to measure skin temperature and can be combined with Suprema’s biometric facial recognition terminal dubbed FaceStation 2, the company announced on LinkedIn.

Suprema Thermal Camera with facial recognition

Suprema Thermal Camera includes the camera, bracket, USB cable and screws, and connects via USB interface for fast deployment. FaceStation 2 was launched earlier this month, and is sold separately.

The system enhances security and safety, provides accurate temperature measurement using thermographic camera with 19,200 pixels per frame, it is fast to deploy and has an ergonomic design. Skin temperature is taken at the door and FaceStation 2 will trigger an alarm if the temperature is higher than the normal threshold.
