SmartMetric announced that its President and CEO Chaya Hendrick will present a talk on biometric cards at next month’s Payments Summit in Phoenix, Arizona. The presentation, titled ‘The Future of Payments Cards, EMV Biometric Smart Cards’, will be held on Thursday, March 14th from 9:00 am to 10:15 am.

SmartMetric has developed biometric cards for banking, secure cyber and building access control along with other biometrics-secured cards for portable medical file storage for frequent travelers offered through health insurers.

The Payments Summit covers all things payments, including FinTech, EMV chip technology, mobile wallets, NFC, contactless, open transit systems and more.

According to research from Goode Intelligence, nearly 579 million biometric payment cards will be used globally by 2023. Biometric Update recently spoke with a number of industry players about the issues to be addressed on the path to mass market deployment of biometric payment cards.
