Paxton access control software supports ViRDI fingerprint readers

Paxton’s Net2 access control software now integrates with Genie CCTV‘s ViRDI biometric reader range.

According to the company, Genie CCTV’s BIOMERGE-PX software works to integrate Paxton’s Net software with the five readers currently available in the ViRDI range.

ViRDI is a brand of a range of integrated Biometric, RFID and Mifare terminals designed and manufactured in Korea by Union Community Co., Ltd. and Genie CCTV is based in the United Kingdom.

The company’s new AC5000 reader comes with a color screen and optional flush and surface housings. The AC6000 comes with optional face detection, for an extra layer of security for more sensitive sites. The company’s readers also include its patented live and fake finger detection and there is a mifare card reader on board all products for flexibility.

“The new integration of Paxton’s innovative Net2 software with the VIRDI range by Genie is another example of us using technology to keep things simple,” Gareth O’Hara, Sales and Marketing Director at Paxton said. “Adding fingerprint users to a system is now as easy as adding a token in Net2, saving our customers and installers time and making their lives easier.”

According to a recently published report on the electronic access control market – in which Kaba is a player — by 2017, the total market will reach $16.3 billion, at a 7% CAGR. Biometric technologies are a major contributor to this growth.

In February, Union Community Co launched its ACF-100 fingerprint and smart card sensor access control terminal – as in its ViRDI line of readers.
