New biometrics sales leaders appointed by Princeton Identity and Jumio

Princeton Identity has expanded its executive team with the appointment of Luis E. Tapia as its new Director of Business Development to tap into rising interested in biometrics for touchless access control.

Tapia has established a track record of improving sales at companies of all sizes during 25 years of experience in electronic security solutions, according to the announcement. He will be tasked with forming new alliances and carrying out other strategic initiatives to increase sales of Princeton’s iris biometrics.

“We are excited to have Luis join us as the company continues to expand its footprint throughout many verticals,” says Bobby Varma, Princeton Identity’s CEO. “Luis brings decades of experience at a critical time when Princeton Identity is seeing a surge of interest in touchless access control solutions.”

“Future access control systems will require multi-modal systems using a combination of technologies such as iris and facial recognition to stay competitive,” comments Tapia. “I am convinced that Princeton Identity’s biometric reliability and versatility will lead to significant opportunities and partnerships.”

Tapia was formerly northeast regional sales manager for smart security company Alula, and was a regional sales manager for ADT Commercial, which involved overseeing access control sales.

Jumio appoints three

Jumio has announced the appointment of three new members to its biometrics sales leadership team. The company has added new VPs for EMEA revenue and product for AML services, and a regional sales director.

Mark Reeves joins Jumio as Vice President of EMEA Revenue after accumulating more than 30 years of experience scaling operations and building high-growth teams, the company says, and recently served at  Carbon Black through an IPO and acquisition by VMWare.

Micah Willbrand is Vice President of Product for AML Services, bringing experience with Experian, Nice Actimize, Relx and GB Group to Jumio to oversee its integration and expansion of Beam Solutions AML platform, which was acquired by the company last year.

Mike Ruiz has been appointed as Jumio’s Director of Western U.S. Sales, after leading Informatica’s hypergrowth from $180 million to more than $1.1 billion in sales in a similar position. Ruiz will hire new business executives for Jumio and expand its partner base in the region.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Mark, Micah and Mike to the Jumio team,” states Dean Hickman-Smith, Jumio’s chief revenue officer. “Together, they will help us continue to build upon our tremendously successful 2020, further expanding across EMEA and North America and layering in incremental platform-based AML services. This in conjunction with expanding our channel footprint will fuel our continued growth as we help organizations make their commercial ecosystems and the internet a safer place.”
