Ipsidy’s mobile facial biometric identity solutions chosen by Peruvian digital company

Ipsidy has partnered with digital solution consultant IECISA, a Gfi Group company, to offer mobile facial biometric identity solutions upgraded with verification provided by RENIEC, the Peruvian National ID Registry, the company announced.

Peru is in constant digital transformation, given than some 60 percent of the population has internet access, yet cybercrime and identity fraud risks are skyrocketing due to remote interactions and lack of secure digital tools to verify identity during customer engagement. IECISA Perú will leverage Ipsidy’s RENIEC-connected IDaaS platform combined with mobile facial biometrics to solve this problem.

Proof by Ipsidy ensures remote customers and the employee onboarding process can benefit from seamless identification through fast mobile identity document capture, liveness confirmation and facial biometric matching of a selfie to the credential photo. The biometric identity is validated against RENIEC’s national records.

The system secures manual and in-person identification processes for financial institutions, telco’s, money transmitters, medical providers and government agencies. Verified by Ipsidy prevents identity fraud during digital transactions and confirms customer identity during account changes, funds transfers or online communication with the customer support desk. It enabled a mobile multi-factor authentication system which, combined with other technology, ensures a seamless identity service and establishes trust between parties.

“We are delighted to partner with IECISA Perú to offer our solutions in Peru and the region,” said in a prepared statement Philip Kumnick, CEO of Ipsidy Inc. “IECISA Perú is well known for their strength and market leadership in verticals requiring real-time identity authentication, and we believe that our combined solutions can reduce the risk of identity fraud and provide significant value to their client portfolio.”

“With the addition of Ipsidy’s identity platform services to our suite of technology solutions, IECISA Perú is excited to be an early leader in the Peruvian and regional markets,” said in the announcement Carlos Garcia of IECISA Perú. “We look forward to bringing these much-needed solutions to our clients and meeting the demand for services needed to build trust in an online digital world.”
