Intercede launches cloud-based, multi-tenanted authentication service

Intercede has released MyID as a Service (MyIDaaS), a secure, self-service, multi-tenanted authentication cloud service for enterprises that eliminates the need for passwords by replacing them with government-grade digital identities.

MyIDaaS is designed to provide a high level of security in a cost-effective manner, while enabling companies of all sizes and sectors to adhere to the strictest of government regulations.

The new solution is designed to enable organizations to replace employee passwords with more secure and convenient digital identities on real or virtual smart cards, pluggable tokens, mobile devices and embedded security modules.

The solution manages the entire lifecycle of credentials, such as revoking them if a user leaves an organization or updating them before the credentials expire.

“Through MyIDaaS, we’re now offering that same level of security to businesses, without the pain of infrastructure overhaul or hefty costs,” said Richard Parris, CEO of Intercede. “This is a game changer for enterprises of all sizes who need to comply with new regulations for protecting customer information but lack the necessary budget and cyber security expertise to build their own digital trust solutions.”

With MyIDaaS, Intercede delivers the same government-grade security it currently provides to governments and defense companies, to businesses in order to protect them against potential cyber-attacks.

The cloud service provides businesses with a dedicated certification authority and the ability to deploy digital identities onto hardware-secured zones within existing enterprise computers and devices.

This includes Intel Authenticate or IPT on Intel powered computers, as well as trusted platform modules on platforms running Microsoft operating systems.

Intercede is planning to add support for physical smart cards, smartphones and Internet-of-Things connected devices in the future.

Previously reported, Intercede launched RapID Secure Login (RapID-SL), a WordPress plugin that enables administrators and subscribers to log into websites and blogs with their fingerprints instead of usernames and passwords.
