Identiv 4501 announced as card reader integrated in Corvus Tetrad

Identiv and Corvus have announced a partnership to integrate the Identiv 4501 contact and contactless smart card reader board into the Corvus Tetrad biometric border patrol solution.

Corvus launched the Tetrad, a modified version of its Corvus Sleeve, with an Identiv card reader in January. The smart card reader from Identiv supports near field communications (NFC) and security standards including contact ISO/IEC 7816, and contactless ISO/IEC 14443.

“We are committed to delivering the most secure, innovative solutions to help protect our borders,” said Jeff Kormanec, CEO of Corvus Integration. “Partnering with U.S.-based Identiv allows us to bring one of the most secure—and powerful—portable biometric devices to market utilizing the latest smart card technology. We look forward to extending our partnership with Identiv and bringing more handheld biometric innovations to market to reliably identify users and better secure our borders.”

The Tetrad integrates an Integrated Biometrics Appendix F-certified “Five-O” four-slap fingerprint scanner with a dual iris and 5mp face camera from Corvus, the Identiv card reader, and a Gemalto machine-readable zone (MRZ) reader.
