Hypr partners with HID on unified access control, launches KYE, biometric tools

U.S.-based decentralized authentication company Hypr has announced a new partnership with HID, which has resulted in two product integrations.
The duo’s first product unifies physical and digital access control. It combines HID’s Crescendo smart cards with HYPR passkeys within a single console, allowing organizations to cut administration and costs.
“Unifying physical and digital security has long been a critical challenge for enterprises, often leading to fragmented access and security gaps,” says Sean Dyon, vice president of HID’s Authentication Business Unit. “By combining HYPR’s phishing-resistant FIDO authentication with HID Crescendo smart cards, we’re enabling organizations to truly deploy one smart credential for every door, device and application.”
The solution was designed for environments where smartphones cannot be used, such as call centers and secure facilities. Employees can use the HID smart cards for physical access and rely on FIDO credentials issued by Hypr on the same card to log into their company’s systems. They can also opt for software-based passkeys for flexibility, Hypr says in a release.
The second product is the Hypr Workforce Identity Verification Audit, a solution that automates the verification of an organization’s workforce identity. The tool is designed to meet compliance requirements and Know Your Employee (KYE) controls.
Last but not least, Hypr will allow companies and users to test out their Hypr Affirm multi-factor identity checks on their website. The trial showcases how the company’s document verification, facial biometrics and passive liveness detection features work.
