Feitian AllinPass launched as company joins Microsoft Intelligent Security Association

Feitian Technologies has been selected to join the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA) and has released a new FIDO2 biometric security key product for passwordless account logins, the company announced at Identiverse 2019 in Washington, D.C.

MISA is an elite group of security-related companies partnered with Microsoft to defend against sophisticated digital threats, according to the announcement.

“Feitian is proud and honored to be selected for membership into MISA. We will continue to work with Microsoft and the other leading companies to provide advanced security protection for Enterprise, Education, Healthcare, Government, and Individual Users,” states Feitian Director of Strategic Projects Michael Gwynn.

The new AllinPass K33 security key with fingerprint biometrics and BLE/NFC/USB-C connectivity extends Feitian’s FIDO and FIDO2 certifications, which cover 18 different existing security products. AllinPass includes an embedded Bluetooth-certified BLE module to ensure seamless communication with most mobile devices and PCs. It provides NFC communication fully compliant with the ISO 14443 standard, and will work with all compliant smart card readers. The multi-factor authentication logon solution and its inclusion of a sensor from Fingerprint Cards was announced late last month.

“Traditional username-password scheme protection, and two-factor authentication, are no longer enough for today’s enterprise security needs. As a result, biometric authentication is expected to grow significantly in the coming years as the fingerprint replaces the PIN,” says Feitian Technologies Vice President and General Manager of International Business Tibi Zhang. “We have worked closely with the FIDO Alliance by strictly adhering to their industry-established technology standards for strong, phishing-resistant authentication on the web that promises better security and a better user experience with our broader choice of Authenticators for everyone.”

The company says its family of security products are purpose-built for FIDO U2F and FIDO2 strong authentication, and its Feitian BioPass passwordless authentication for USB-A (K27) and USB-C (K26) have received FIDO2 certification. The ePass FIDO (K12) security key is both FIDO U2F and FIDO2 certified, and USB-A compatible. The company’s security keys can also deliver PIV, OTP, and GIDS with options for different interfaces, and price points along with fingerprint biometrics.

“Feitian has long demonstrated its strong commitment to the FIDO Alliance, both in terms of its investments in certified product development and its inputs as a board member company,” observes Andrew Shikiar, executive director and chief marketing officer of the FIDO Alliance. “We are pleased to see Feitian introducing this FIDO2 certified security key, added to the strong ecosystem of options for enterprises and consumers looking to adopt simpler, stronger FIDO authentication.”
