BrainChip has reached an agreement with Veritone to integrate its BrainChip Studio with the Veritone aiWARE operating system for artificial intelligence as a member of the Veritone Developer program.

The integration will add BrainChip Studio’s object recognition and facial classification to aiWARE, which functions as an integration platform for cognitive engines, and draws data from multimedia sources, such as television broadcasts, surveillance footage, public and private content, to provide accurate and actionable insights, according to the announcement.

“BrainChip’s one-shot training for object search and facial classification provides a capability not found in the other cognitive engines in the aiWARE portfolio,” commented Mike Morper, VP Product Marketing at Veritone. “We anticipate this capability will be vital for many of our SaaS and on-premise customers in the media, government, and law enforcement markets.”

“Through our collaboration with Veritone we are adding a new distribution channel for BrainChip’s spiking neural network technology,” said Bob Beachler, BrainChip Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “In addition, the Veritone aiWARE platform is essentially future proofing AI, with a complementary and continuously-growing portfolio of cognitive engines and applications that can serve as a robust solution to our mutual customers.”

The combined solution is now available to early access customers, and is expected to reach a full production launch by the end of Q2 2018.

BrainChip Studio was upgraded in April with improved object recognition from different angles, support for large-scale Linux deployments, and an API.
